Second-Home Visa in Indonesia

In October 2022, the Indonesian Government issued a Circular of (Plt.) Director General of Immigration Number IMI-0746.GR.01.01 of 2022 on the Issuance of Second-Home Visa and Limited Stay Permits.

Second-Home Visa targets foreigners who would come to Indonesia as travellers, investors, and/or elderly/retirement tourists. The fee for the Second-Home Visa is Rp3,000,000 (three million Rupiah) per person. This visa allows foreign nationals to enter and stay in Indonesia for 5 or 10 years.

The required documents for the Second-Home Visa are as follows:

1. Copy of the passport that is valid for a minimum of 36 (thirty-six) months;

2. Proof of Funds in foreigners’ or sponsors’ bank account (must be placed in Indonesian government-owned banks) of at least Rp2,000,000,000 (two billion rupiahs) or equivalent;

3. Recent colour photograph (4 cm x 6 cm) with a white background;

4. Curriculum vitae.

Furthermore, a foreigner or sponsor is also able to apply Second-Home Visa for their family members by attaching these required documents:

1. Copy of the passport that is valid for a minimum of 36 (thirty-six) months;

2. Recent colour photograph (4 cm x 6 cm) with a white background;

3. A valid Second-Home Visa or Second Home Temporary Stay Permit of their husband, wife, children, or parents;

4. Evidence of having a family relationship with a holder of a Second-Home Visa or Second-Home Stay Permit by showing:

4. Marriage certificate for husband/wife who holds a Second-Home Visa or Stay Permit, or

4. Birth certificate or family card stating that the foreigner is the parent or child of the holder of a Second-Home Visa or Stay Permit, translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator, except if the document is in English.

After the applicants complete the required documents and fee payment, the processing time for a visitor visa is 4 (four) working days after the submission.
